Description

I can not believe I drew Fry and Leela in the images of the Phantom and Christine. But even more I can not believe that they fit into these images. Especially Fry.

The combination of shape artwork with the expected CG shading is definitely refreshing. I revel in the sharp details like the stray hairs, the thickness in the line weight around her eyelashes and the delicate short lines in her dress.

If I were to pick some things to improve upon, I would point out that the hands feel a little weak because they seem out of proportion with the heads. I'm fine with the enlargement of the heads to give it a stylistic look, but I feel like the smallness of the hands should relate more to Fry's body, where it looks more organic in Leela's body. Maybe it's because we "know" that Leela is taller and more slender where Fry is supposed to be shorter and more stout.

As far as technique goes, it looks like you spent more time on Fry's neckerchief than you did on the dress, which is in the foreground. Although it could be the illusion of it seeming that way because his suit is darker, I feel like the piece could still benefit from a little more blending and detail in the dress. Also there's a hard dark shadow on her breast and body that are stage right. I think that should be a highlight instead- pending where you've designated the light source with the rest of the shading.

I think your colors are beautiful and I'm always excited to see your art featured on the Futurama Forever bulletin. Keep on truckin'
